The Almuñécar Aquarium has been recently renovated, remodeling the facilities both technically and aesthetically.
The visit to the aquarium is a journey through the ecosystem and marine fauna of the Mediterranean and especially the coast of Sexitano. In addition to the 20 aquariums and the impressive Oceanarium of one million liters of water over a 17-meter long panoramic tunnel, it has a permanent exhibition of photographs of the seabed off the coast of Almuñécar and La Herradura and Aula Pedagógica.
The two levels of the Almuñécar Aquarium of Mediterranean Fauna facilities are a space for interpreting the Mediterranean coastline in which interpretive murals and posters will help you immerse yourself in the ecosystem of our coast.
Inside the facility there are more than 1,000 specimens of 125 species, representing Mediterranean ecosystems and some others, well known to the general public as the coral reef.
Among these species we can find specimens of the delicate jellyfish A.aurita or the magnificent specimens of Corvinas, Morenas or Groupers.
