The long-awaited summer of 2025 is here, and this year will be remembered among other major events, thanks to a new musical milestone on the Costa Tropical with the arrival of the Blues Fest in Almuñécar, the oldest city in Spain bordering the Mediterranean. A major event that promises to become a must-attend for blues lovers. This first edition will take place on July 10th and 11th, when El Majuelo Park will become the epicenter of international blues, offering two unforgettable nights under the stars of the best blues music to all residents, visitors, and tourists who visit the city of Sexitan during those days.

A Luxury Lineup for an Unforgettable First Edition

The festival, which will debut this summer, will do so in style with a top-notch lineup, bringing together all-time legends of the genre, as well as a series of emerging talents who will soon become true blues legends.

On Thursday, July 10, the opening day will feature a performance by Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, a band from the West Coast of the United States (specifically, the state of California), led by none other than harmonica virtuoso Rick Estrin. With their energetic and humorous style, they promise a vibrant show. That same evening, the young but experienced guitarist and singer from Louisiana (United States of America), DK Harrell, winner of Best Emerging Artist at the 2024 Blues Music Awards, will offer his passionate repertoire, with which he has conquered international stages in many countries throughout Europe and the Americas.

The following day, Friday, July 11, the Almuñécar Blues Fest will reach its climax with a performance by Glenn Hughes, known as “The Voice of Rock” for his time in the legendary band Deep Purple. This will be his first performance in Andalusia, performing classics from the legendary British band.

The evening will be rounded out by the London trio Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, whose members are all siblings who master several instruments. They fuse styles such as R&B, jazz, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll, and will undoubtedly offer a unique and unforgettable musical experience, surrounded by the summer evening breezes we enjoy in Almuñécar thanks to its privileged microclimate.

A magical setting: El Majuelo Park

El Majuelo Park, located in the heart of Almuñécar, offers an incomparable natural setting for this festival. Surrounded by palm trees, historical monuments, and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this open-air space allows attendees to enjoy music in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
