Ce pont, d’une longueur d’environ 18 m\u00e8tres et d’une hauteur de 6 m\u00e8tres, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9 Puente Viejo de Almu\u00f1\u00e9car, qui enjambe le ravin de Cotobro, se trouve facilement tout pr\u00e8s de la plage du m\u00eame nom.<\/p>\n

Bien que l’on sache qu’il a subi de nombreuses modifications au cours de l’histoire, sa premi\u00e8re construction remonte entre le premier et le troisi\u00e8me si\u00e8cle de notre \u00e8re, ce qui lui conf\u00e8re une origine romaine, m\u00eame s’il ne reste pas beaucoup de vestiges de la structure romaine originale en raison des changements subis au cours de ses vingt si\u00e8cles d’histoire.<\/p>\n

Il s’agit d’un autre exemple clair de la grande histoire de la ville d’Almu\u00f1\u00e9car, la plus ancienne ville de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e espagnole.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>[vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4090″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space]

Il s’agit d’un pont \u00e0 une seule trav\u00e9e, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en ma\u00e7onnerie hydraulique avec des pierres irr\u00e9guli\u00e8res provenant de la r\u00e9gion, et fond\u00e9 sur les rives du ravin.<\/p>\n

Nous pouvons \u00e9galement voir que le fil est soutenu par des cul\u00e9es dont la construction est constitu\u00e9e de dalles horizontales de pr\u00e8s d’un demi-m\u00e8tre d’\u00e9paisseur. De plus, il a une forme quelque peu zigzagante.<\/p>\n

Il est \u00e9galement appel\u00e9 “Alcantarilla de Cotobro”, car le terme “alcantarilla” fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux petits ponts \u00e0 \u0153il unique.<\/p>\n

Selon une l\u00e9gende tr\u00e8s r\u00e9pandue, Hercule lui-m\u00eame (Heracles), symbole de l’Andalousie, aurait travers\u00e9 ce pont, car les c\u00f4tes d’Almu\u00f1\u00e9car et de La Herradura faisaient partie de la fameuse voie H\u00e9racl\u00e9enne ou Herculean Way, le long de laquelle le h\u00e9ros classique conduisait les b\u0153ufs vol\u00e9s \u00e0 G\u00e9ryon, dans l’un des fameux 12 travaux qu’Hercule r\u00e9alisa pour prouver qu’il \u00e9tait un demi-dieu.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>[vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4091″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space]

La Via Herculea, qui partait de Cadix, longeait toute la c\u00f4te m\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne et se terminait \u00e0 Rome, en passant par Ampurias et Rosas, et suit plus ou moins le m\u00eame trac\u00e9 que la route nationale 340 au XXe si\u00e8cle et la route \u00e0 deux voies A7 au XXIe si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n

Bien qu’il soit \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s probable, selon diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9tudes, que le trac\u00e9 de cette route soit encore ant\u00e9rieur \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque romaine, et qu’elle reliait les colonies et usines ph\u00e9niciennes install\u00e9es sur la c\u00f4te sud et sud-est de la p\u00e9ninsule ib\u00e9rique.<\/p>\n

Il convient \u00e9galement de noter que le pont romain de Cotobro pr\u00e9sente une s\u00e9rie de similitudes dans sa construction avec d’autres b\u00e2timents et ouvrages romains de la m\u00eame ville, comme l’aqueduc et les vo\u00fbtes int\u00e9rieures du phare de Brigantium ou les thermes de Seg\u00f3briga.<\/p>\n

La visite de ce monument mill\u00e9naire peut se faire \u00e0 n’importe quelle \u00e9poque de l’ann\u00e9e, gr\u00e2ce au microclimat privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 de cette ville de la Costa del Sol Tropicale, et il est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s facile de le trouver, que ce soit pour le visiter ou pour faire du tourisme, car pour y acc\u00e9der depuis la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre plage de Cotobro, il suffit de remonter la route asphalt\u00e9e sur la rive gauche du ravin, apr\u00e8s quelques minutes de marche, vous arriverez \u00e0 la rue Molino qui m\u00e8ne directement au Pont Romain de Cotobro.<\/p>\n
