The Ornithological Park complements the nature tourism offer in Almuñécar, perfect to visit with the family and discover the 271 specimens of some 30 different species such as Cockatoos, Macaws, Peacocks, Ipecaá, Lorises, Parrots, Swans in its ponds and pools.
The ornithological park Loro Sexi is also completed with the aquarium of Almuñécar and the park of Peña Escrita, which together offer a great tourist alternative to visit with the family so that the little ones can be in contact with nature.
The park is situated in a low corner of the Castillo de San Miguel, within a wooded area of native species. As we walk uphill we come across some of the striking and colourful birds that live in the park. Also meerkats and ring-tailed lemurs. At the highest part of the park there is a cactus garden with beautiful flowers depending on the time of the year, and a great view of Almuñécar that does not disappoint.
