This is a family business on the well-known San Cristóbal beach in Almuñécar on the Costa del Sol Tropical, which has been run by Francisco González López since 1998.

But we must also mention that this classic chiringuito on the beach of San Cristóbal is one of the oldest in the coastal town of Granada because it has been delighting tourists and the inhabitants of Almuñécar and La Herradura since the middle of the 20th century, specifically since 1965.

It has a large, comfortable dining room where all kinds of events can be held, from weddings, baptisms and communions to business meetings. Likewise, the chiringuito has a large terrace on the beach on the sand about ten metres from the beach, to increase the feeling of relaxation that transmits the luxury of being able to eat on the beach with all the comforts of a first class restaurant. In addition to enjoying the views of the enigmatic Peñón del Santo, one of the symbols of Almuñécar and the beach of San Cristóbal, where the sunsets are spectacular and thanks to Chiringuito Vizcaya you can accompany them with a refreshing drink with the flavours of its specialities.

And speaking of specialities, in the menu of this beach bar we find espetos of different types of fish, cooked over a wood fire, as the most demanding canons demand. The seafood casserole and the blind paella are also highly recommended. As well as enjoying the delicious sardine skewers from the coast of Granada. And for dessert, before leaving, don’t forget to try a tasty tub of ice cream.

But we cannot fail to mention its pizzas, because Chiringuito Vizcaya never ceases to surprise us as it is also a pizzeria that produces a wide range of tasty pizzas.

And if you are on holiday and don’t want to waste time cooking at home, Chiringuito Vizcaya offers an economical daily menu and also menus for groups.
Although most chiringuitos are very seasonal, Chiringuito Vizcaya and its pizzeria are open all year round, except from the 1st of November to the 20th of December. Serving breakfast from nine in the morning when it opens its doors, for the early risers, until the afternoon-evening when you can also enjoy the sunset tasting cocktails and drinks, because in high season it closes at midnight.

Since the year 2.021, the son of Francisco González López, Francisco González Escobedo, has taken over the management of the restaurant. He has set himself a new and more ambitious goal in the framework of the new Andalusian Coastal Law, with a major refurbishment of the whole place. Thanks to the arrival of the new manager, who has also come to give a renovation and modernisation to the premises, among other things there is already a DJ who livens up the evenings on the beach of San Cristóbal with his music. But in order to continue with the renovation, next winter it will temporarily close its doors until next Easter 2.022, when it will open again, but with a series of improvements that will be a surprise that you can’t miss.
