Torrecuevas is getting ready for four days filled with music, tradition, gastronomy and activities for the whole family. From 9 to 12 October 2026, the neighbourhood of Almuñécar will celebrate its traditional festivities in honour of the Virgen Madre, bringing together residents and visitors in a lively autumn celebration.
This year’s edition will feature a larger festival site with more casetas and improved infrastructure. The programme includes children’s activities, sports, competitions, traditional food, music, a charity hike, horse racing and, of course, the solemn procession of the Virgen Madre. 🎶🎡
🌴 Torrecuevas gets ready for four days of festivities
The Fiestas de Torrecuevas are among the traditional autumn celebrations in Almuñécar. The festivities take place around Plaza del Acueducto, the local school and the Virgen Madre chapel, combining a lively village-fair atmosphere with the traditions of the neighbourhood.
The celebrations are closely connected to the agricultural traditions of the area. October coincides with the harvest season for subtropical fruits, particularly cherimoya, mango and avocado. The Virgen Madre is traditionally asked to bless the harvest.
The festivities are organised with the participation of the Asociación de Vecinos “El Acueducto de Torrecuevas” and the Hermandad Virgen Madre San Isidro, with the support of the Almuñécar Town Council.
