If you are looking for a different plan this autumn, Almuñécar has an unmissable date to mark on your calendar. From 9 to 11 October 2026, the town will once again become a meeting point for jazz lovers with the celebration of the 7th edition of Jazz en Otoño, a special extension of the International Jazz Festival on the Costa.
Over three days, the Martín Recuerda Auditorium at the Casa de la Cultura in Almuñécar will welcome outstanding musicians from the international and national jazz scene, with a programme showcasing different styles and approaches to jazz.
Three evenings to enjoy live music in a welcoming and intimate atmosphere, with performances ranging from funk, soul and R&B to hard bop, swing and Brazilian rhythms. 🎷🎶
🎷 An autumn extension of Jazz en la Costa
Jazz en Otoño was created as a special extension of Jazz en la Costa, allowing the spirit of one of Europe’s longest-running jazz festivals to continue into the autumn months.
In 2026, the event reaches its seventh edition, becoming an established part of Almuñécar’s cultural programme and offering another opportunity to enjoy major artists following the summer festival.
This time, the concerts move to the Martín Recuerda Auditorium at the Casa de la Cultura, a venue that provides a more intimate and welcoming setting for the performances.
🎶 Jazz en Otoño 2026 Programme
The 7th edition of Jazz en Otoño will take place from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026, with the three main concerts starting at 8:00 pm at the Martín Recuerda Auditorium.

🎷 Friday 9 October: Erly Thornton & David Margam – The Funk Assembly
The festival will open on Friday 9 October with Erly Thornton & David Margam: The Funk Assembly, a project bringing together American saxophonist Erly Thornton and Granada-born guitarist David Margam alongside a large ensemble of musicians.
The group combines contemporary jazz, funk, soul and R&B, with groove as the driving force behind a performance designed to celebrate the energy of live music.
Erly Thornton, a saxophonist and composer born in Nashville, has developed a strong international career and in recent years has maintained close links with the Andalusian music scene.
David Margam, a guitarist with a long professional career and founder of the band Funkdacion, brings his extensive experience in funk and contemporary jazz to the project.
They will be joined by Jaime Párrizas on drums, Miguel Ángel Gil on bass, José Luis Lopretti on piano, Andrés García and David Margam on guitars, Gastón López on percussion and Sista Funk on vocals.
🎷 Saturday 10 October: Jesse Davis Quartet
Saturday will see the arrival of Jesse Davis Quartet, featuring one of the leading saxophonists associated with the jazz tradition of New Orleans.
Born in New Orleans in 1965, Jesse Davis began his musical education with Ellis Marsalis at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Throughout his career, he has worked and shared the stage with some of the biggest names in jazz.
His music maintains a strong connection with hard bop and the great jazz tradition, while also reflecting his own distinctive and contemporary voice.
In Almuñécar, he will be joined by Joan Monné on piano, DJ Foster on double bass and Joan Casares on drums.
🎷 Sunday 11 October: Ludovic Beier Montmartre Quartet
The seventh edition of Jazz en Otoño will come to a close on Sunday 11 October with Ludovic Beier Montmartre Quartet.
French accordionist Ludovic Beier is considered one of the leading performers of his instrument in European jazz and is also a renowned specialist in the accordion.
Together with pianist Pierre-Alain Goualch, double bassist Gautier Laurent and drummer Frédéric Delestre, Beier will present a repertoire combining swing, West Coast jazz and the rhythms and colours of Brazilian music.
A performance full of melody, energy and musical richness that will bring three days of jazz in Almuñécar to a memorable close. 🎶
🌟 Jazz for schoolchildren: music, production and astronomy
Jazz en Otoño is not limited to the evening concerts. On Friday 9 October, a special programme for schoolchildren will also take place at the Martín Recuerda Auditorium at the Casa de la Cultura.

The “From the Classroom to the Stage” workshop will begin at 9:00 am, followed at noon by the educational concert “Jazz in Orbit”.
The latter combines live music, projections and astronomy-related content to introduce younger audiences to jazz in a fun, interactive and different way.
The activity is supported by the SGAE Foundation.

Tickets for the concerts are priced at €15 per performance, while a three-concert pass costs €30.
Tickets can be purchased online through Redentradas and at the Casa de la Cultura ticket office in Almuñécar.
The ticket office is located at Puerta de Granada, 19, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm, as well as one hour before each concert.
