Bar el Convento in Almuñécar

Share

Opened in 1998, this place with its tasteful vintage interior design had a precedent also run by the same owner, Francisco Reyes, the well-known Rastro of the eighties and nineties of the last century. Like that one, this one retains the flavour of an old antique shop and gives the ambience the patina of time and from it recovers an atmosphere far removed from neon and imposes with forcefulness a timeless old fashion personality as is the taste for the classic. A Mediterranean must-see that should not be missed because of the style it adds to the special image of Almuñécar.

Stained glass windows, old clocks, old photographs, still lifes or landscapes combine with a taste for cocktails or the music of the 60’s Italian idols mixed with the Croonners of the 50’s or the jazz of Miles Davis or Stan Getz.

Its art gallery, on the first floor, connected by a glass skylight to the space below, holds bimonthly exhibitions in small format.

On the first floor, there is a splendid terrace with a bar and latticework that adorns the walls of the former Convent of Minims, which it adjoins, with exotic plants.

It is the ideal place for drinks, cocktails, special beers, liquors, etc., with a very good atmosphere and exquisite service. And of course, unbeatable music. On the first and third Wednesday of every month, you can’t miss the live concerts.

And from the 9th of June, we start the language exchanges, a new and different experience.
